I'm Mrs. Sanders. The 2013-2014 school year marks my 2nd full year at Community House. I was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. My family moved to Charlotte in 1990. At the time, my dad was a construction worker, and when Hugo hit he uprooted my mom, two brothers, and myself to Charlotte. I attended Sterling Elementary, Quail Hollow Middle, and I am a South Mecklenburg Alum.
I obtained my Bachelor's Degree from Western Carolina University. At Western I was involved in many activities. My Sophomore year I was crowned Homecoming Queen. I was also the Captain of my Rugby Team for 3 years. At Western I was also inducted into one of the most prestigious African American Sororities in the world, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. (Z Phi) One of my most important accomplishments at Western was meeting my husband, Morris. Morris and I have now been married for 6 years, and we have one child; Lil Morris:)
I've grown tremendously in my short time at CHMS, both professionally and personally. My goal is to incorporate the things I've learned in the classroom, to be the best teacher I can be. I look forward to a successful year.
